Description

This is his second solo CD, although this is the first released under his name (the other was Fear of Pop, Volume 1). It is very similar to the music that Ben Folds Five put out. The main difference is that he wrote all of the songs and plays virtually all of the instruments (I was actually glad to hear someone else play the cello... the guy's talented, but no reason to push it).

  • This is my newest favorite CD. Every time I play it, I like it more and more. It's very similar to BFF, which is a very good thing in my book. He still plays piano, but now he also plays the drums, bass, and guitar. The songs vary in tempo, moving from faster rocking tracks to slow laid back ballads. As one might expect from Mr. Ben, most of the songs have their own stories to tell. The music, while at times poppy, is very catchy with some intricate melodies woven in for good measure.

  • I must say I owned this cd for a month before I really played it. Since then, I've almost worn it out. There's not a bad song on it. He does a great job instrumentally - there is no awkwardness that you might expect from someone playing all the instruments. It might as well be bff playing.
