- I usually like most of TC Boyle's stories. This one didn't really do it for me. The story felt weak for me; I couldn't relate to the main character, and the eco-terror that is the Earth in 2025 just fell flat.

- One of his best books. The characters are so tremendously flawed that in order to identify w/them, you would need to be...tremendously flawed. This is typical of TCB, making it challenging reading...but the dialog and descriptions are finely crafted yet down to earth, so sip it like a good glass of wine.
