Banished

Interesting game. It's tough at the start if you try to treat it like an ordinary city-building game; basically your people will quickly die as you overextend yourself. The game is about balance and foresight, which of course is easier said than done if you know nothing of how it works. I definitely recommend starting out at the easiest settings and having one of the fan-based wikis up on a second screen for reference. I've now logged 100+ hours, which is probably a record for me for any type of RTS.
