  • In my opinion, this is where Elton John peaked in quality during phase 1 of his career. Each album after this got progressively weaker creatively, and then of course, he went disco by 1976. This "double album" fits on one cd, and although it contains several throw-aways, it is also full of classics. Just a few examples are "Harmony," the title track, "Grey Seal," and "Candle in the Wind."
