Ghosts of Mississippi

Leading Civil Rights activist Medgar Evers was shot in back by Byron De La Beckwith in 1963. Evers died but Beckwith walked. 30 years later a jury finally convicted Beckwith. This story deals with the difficulties of bringing justice in the deep south when few want to talk about the past. National Book Award finalist.
