The Shadow Rising

On this re-read of the series, my favorite so far. Similar to previous book, the characters are still very much evolving, but very immature. The Perrin-Faile arc is probably the strongest and works the best, even if you want to smack Perrin in the head to get some sense into him. The Tanchico story was probably the weakest for me, but had the most comic relief to help it out; felt more of a setup than payoff (which isn't the worst thing in a long running series). I liked how he had some major events happen just off screen, rather than turn into their own novels (as happens a bit too often in later books). Really, this book includes so many major events that it's kind of crazy.
