- I just re-read this classic. Does a good job setting the stage for the Lord of the Rings. In comparison to the others, it is a bit simplistic.

- I agree with Dave... while it does give a nice setup to the Lord of the Rings, it seems like it's more geared towards children than adults. It's a pleasant read, but doesn't have the same pull as his other works.
