The First Man in Rome

A bit of a long read, but it was well worth it. The style and language took a little to get used to. As the book progressed, however, I enjoyed the storyline and found myself engaged by the characters and their various goings-on. As I read, I wondered how much she actually researched; while she didn't include a bibliography, she did include 100+ pages in the appendix for an extensive glossary and pronunciation guide.
