- This book gets a bit "out there" at times, but despite that, I thought it was a great read. It truly captures a magical age back when high tech meant mechanical marvals, and maybe magic really did exist. Being centered in NYC and the upper Hudson Valley also made it more interesting for me. It was difficult to relate to most of the characters, and the ending was a bit anti-climactic, but I still truly enjoyed it anyway.
