Anthrax

Anthrax is a straight-up heavy metal band that released its first album in 1984. They have gone through quite a bit since their beginning, from changing vocalists and guitarists, to hopping back and forth between unstable record companies. They were the first band to blend metal with rap (which has now become mainstream with bands like Limp Bizkit and Linkin' Park) when they got together with Public Enemy for "Bring the Noise".
